In reading Leviticus, I am in a strange place.
I don't understand such rules.
I am horrified at animal sacrifices.
It all seems so barbaric.
So, I have to think that there is significance to this.
I believe it is a preview for Christ.
The Sin Offering.
Like all other offerings, comes with specific requirements.
The offering is to be killed where the burnt offering takes place.
"It is most holy" v. 25
It must be eaten in a holy place.
The blood that is sprinkled on garments must be washed in a holy place.
The earthen vessel, where it is boiled must be broken.
A whole lot of holiness going on.
How careless my life seems in comparison.
I would not do good with such rules, I forget a lot.
Or I chose not to do what I chose not to do.
Ouch. Did I say that?
My favorite part is "the earthen vessel in which it is boiled shall be broken." v.28.
I am pretty sure I am considered an earthen vessel.
A sin offering.
Earthen vessel broken.
